We are looking for motivated and experienced Procurement Manager to join main modern BIO CITY facilities in Vilnius, Lithuania.
The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely procurement of materials and services required to support biopharmaceutical manufacturing operations, while also contributing to the success of occasional cross-functional projects as needed. Job description
- Take a hands-on lead in executing local and international procurement activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality supply of materials, equipment, and services needed for biopharmaceutical manufacturing operations
- Actively manage purchases, including sourcing, negotiation, contract review, and order placement
- Coordinate and mentor a team of procurement specialists, providing guidance and oversight while also directly handling critical procurement tasks
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, continuously evaluating and developing the supplier base to ensure competitiveness, reliability, and regulatory compliance
- Ensure that all procured items and services meet quality, technical, and regulatory requirements, working closely with internal stakeholders
- Monitor and manage procurement timelines to support manufacturing schedules and operational demands, proactively resolving supply or logistics issues
- Support and oversee processes related to customs clearance, import/export regulations, and logistics coordination in collaboration with internal departments and external service providers
- Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to identify cost-saving opportunities, alternative suppliers, or new sourcing strategies
- Contribute to the improvement of internal procurement processes, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency, transparency, and compliance
- From time-to-time support and participate in cross-functional or ad hoc projects requiring procurement expertise, as needed.
Expectations for the new colleague
- 5+ years work experience in procurement expert or managing role (or similar)
- Higher education in relevant field
- Knowledge of international sourcing, cross-border purchasing, and related logistics, including familiarity with customs clearance procedures and import/export regulations
- Track record of hands-on execution of procurement processes, from sourcing, tenders to order placement, with both local and international suppliers
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to manage vendor relationships to ensure quality, cost-efficiency, and delivery performance
- Understanding quality standards relevant to materials and services in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, ability to evaluate supplier performance, conduct market research, and assess risk
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, adaptive and constructive nature
- Proficiency in Lithuanian and English.
